Preview Climate Crisis 2.0 enhancements

The next version of Secret of Mana: Climate Crisis will include several new improvements:

  • Spell grinding speed-up hack (2x) by Kethinov.
  • Screen scrolling hack by Binarynova, zhaDe and Queue.
  • Killable Snowmen by Kethinov: use magic spells on frozen enemies.

I have also added eight new text box backgrounds to the game. All the original ones remain, but you can now choose from a mix of beautiful (and intentionally ugly) new designs.

Climate Crisis 2.0 preview: The very popular solid background will be available!

In addition, characters names can now be up to 8 letters long (previously limited to 6). Thanks to a mod by Regrs and Queue will allow you to use mixed-case letters and symbols when naming your characters.

Preview: What name will you choose for your character in Climate Crisis 2.0?

Secret of Mana: Climate Crisis is progressing steadily. Many thanks to the creators who kindly allowed me to use their work.

    • It’s going to be awesome, hey.
I’m wondering.. did you play any of the previous versions of Climate Crisis? Or will the new version be your first experience?

      • I discovered this some weeks ago and I asked Tom at the forum what he recommended to me (to wait or to play 1.2) and suggested me to wait.
        Soooo… I am waiting 🙂

  1. Wow, that screenshot looks amazing. I know very little of Climate Crisis, but I’m hyped to see all the new dialogue. The dialogue you added in SoM Plus was top-tier.

I wish there was a way to ‘subscribe’ to the main page so I wouldn’t miss any new posts. But oh well, will just keep on stopping in.

.. That mod to enhance character naming is sublime!
In other RPG’s, I’ve used ‘Matthias’ as a secondary name – it’s nice that I can use that now – and actually choose mixed-case. That’s such a nice improvement..!
    Super excited, Tomm.

    • I don’t show too much to avoid spoiling the content. The new dialogue will be mainly old dialogue transformed or extended to fit the changes in the rom hack.
I might create a newsletter someday.
